Dr. Somkiat Athikhomkulchai, born in Thailand, graduated from Chiangmai University Medical School in 1978. He furthered his education to become an Ophthalmologist from a prestigious Siriraj Medical School, Mahidol University in 1989.
Dr. Athikhomkulchai is a specialist in Glaucoma and Retinal Diseases. Through his practice, he discovered an approach to improve his patients' vision by the way of "Palm Pressure Therapy (PPT for short)." PPT combines Ayurveda and Thai massage of increasing blood flow in the eyes to improve vision in the patient with Glaucoma and retinal diseases including:
1 Retinitis Pigmentosa
2. Age-related macular degeneration ( dry type )
3.Central Serous Chorioretinopathy
4. Central and Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion
5. Central and Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion
Since 2004, more than 10,000 of patients with Glaucoma and other retinal diseases have improved their vision through the practice of PPT. It is a simple method where the patient after instructed with the technique, may apply it at home at their convenience.
Dr. Athikhomkulchai emphasizes that the proper technique and frequency of the practice PPT are keys to the success of the treatment.
Dr. Athikhomkulchai hopes to share his knowledge with Ophthalmologists around the world so together we can end blindness.
